Former International Cricketer for Zimbabwe exiled for speaking up for human rights

The extraordinary story of the cricketer who risked his life in the name of freedom. Henry Olonga was the youngest and first black cricketer to play for Zimbabwe. On February 10 2003 he wore a black arm band during a World Cup match to mourn the ‘death of democracy’ in Zimbabwe. He was sought by President Mugabe’s secret police and exiled.

Henry Olonga is also a Global Ambassador for Anglican Aid. On the night we will hear how 1 in 10 people in the world do not have access to safe water. They deserve better and we have the opportunity to be part of the change needed.
